FEAST (COOKBOOK)

The Hostina festival, held during the winter semester of 2021/22 at Kafkárna in Prague, was conceived as an open platform for exploring the intersections of food, art, and ecological thought. It focused on how everyday practices of preparing and sharing food can reflect broader social, environmental, and cultural relationships.

The festival program included lectures, collective cooking, performances, and artistic interventions that addressed the human relationship to soil, plants, natural cycles, and the climate crisis. It created space for interdisciplinary exchange among artists, theorists, activists, and the local community.

Hostina also served as the impulse for a thematic publication — a cookbook — that captured not only recipes, but also stories, reflections, artistic outputs, and shared experiences. The project demonstrated that even an everyday activity like eating can become a starting point for deeper reflection and a shift in how we relate to the world around us.
